What is companionship care?

Companionship care is different to a traditional care service that provides support with personal care and medical needs. At My Kind Of Day, we don’t offer personal care or medical support but instead our companionship visits support individuals to spend their time doing what they would like to do, focusing on activities, hobbies, feelings, emotions and the things most important to them. Just some of our companionship services include conversations over a cuppa and cake, creative activities and games, outings to the shops or local attractions as well as support around the home and with appointments.

What areas does My Kind Of Day cover?
We offer our services across Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire.

As a general guide, we cover areas in a 15 – 20 mile radius of Camberley, Surrey.

What is the enquiry process for My Kind Of Day Companionship visits?

We like to have an initial enquiry via email or phone call, whichever is best suited to you.

Following this initial enquiry, we can arrange a home visit, or a meeting at a location of choice in the community. By meeting in person, it provides us with the opportunity to find out a little bit more about your loved one; their likes, interests & hobbies and also ensures we can meet their needs. Please rest assure that there is no charge for our initial home visit. 

 

If you would then like to proceed, we can get planning visits best suited for you and your loved ones.

 

 

What ongoing support does My Kind of Day provide?

We will always spend time getting to know each individual and tailor the companionship visits to them. We are also here to support you and your families with regular check-ins and updates.

 

We know that over time, a person’s needs can change and further support may be required. Through our regular check-ins, we can discuss any changes that have been noticed and can support with looking into next steps, best suited for your loved ones and your family.

 

 

How much are My Kind Of Day Companionship visits?

My Kind Of Day companionship care calls are charged at £25 per hour.

Our visits are a minimum of one hour, as this allows for your loved one to have meaningful engagement best suited to them. Please note that we are flexible and can accommodate shorter visits upon requests, where possible.

 

Additional charges may be added for outings during a companionship visit, such as admission fees or mileage for client outings greater than 5 miles in distance to the destination. Any miles above this distance, for client outings, will be charged at 45p per mile. Upon enquiry for any outings, we will always advise on additional costs.

What is the cancellation policy for My Kind Of Day Companionship visits?

We aim to be as flexible as possible, with no long-term contracts. We know that needs can change over time and can adapt our companionship calls to best suit each individual.

 

Please note that we do require at least 24 hours notice for cancellation without charge. Cancellations after this period will be charged at 50% of our standard hourly rate. Further information can be found in our client contract document, provided during the enquiry stage.
